I don’t know if penis.gay exists, but it should. Think about it. If you’re a gay dude, and you’re out and proud, what better way to find other gay dudes who are also out and proud?

I don’t know how social interaction works with finding other like minded gay guys, but do you know how thrilled straight men would be if women had a horny.drippingpussy instance that they used when they wanted sex?

I think part of the problem with guys trying to find sex, is chasing it from people who are in no way interested. So if Tom flirts with Sally, but Sally is asexual, then Tom has a 0% succsess potential if he hits on her at the bar. But he doesn’t know that. So after he gets rejected, now he feels bad about himself. Nobody likes getting rejected.

But if Tom went on nsfwlemmy, and found Tina@horny.drippingpussy then he would know that she’s just like a Buffalo NY city street in December. Ready to be plowed.

And for gay guys, penis.gay would let them identify to each other that they’re all like minded, and judgement free.

Although as I think about this, at least in America, it may not be the best idea, because now ICE is essentially becoming the S.S. and using social media activity to track “undesirables”. And I don’t trust the republicans to be open minded and empathetic. We all know what the nazis did with gay people in the 30s/40s.

So I guess it would be one of those things that would be great in a perfect world…but because we live in this reality, we can’t have nice things.

I am extremely uneducated about this point, but how are “asexual” and “love to be spitroasted” compatible things in the same person?

Feel free to tell me to just search this on my own, but I am hella confused and if you can spare the time, that would help me greatly.

A lot if horny people like the idea of joining the LGBT club and ironically found the Asexual label the easiest one to morph to their desires.

So now a lot of people online will say asexuals are still very much sexual, and help that be a self-fulfilling prophecy by not caring that it makes people looking for others who are naturally not sexual very uncomfortable to be considered under the same label.

No, that’s bigoted nonsense. Trans people had to suffer well meaning cis people crying about “transtrenders” in the 10s and I guess aces have to deal with this too now.

Asexuality is lack of sexual attraction. Attraction is like hunger. Some people like to eat sweets even when they’re not hungry, some people don’t. The words for that are “sex positive ace” and “sex repulsed ace”.

Asexuality is also an umbrella. There’s demisexuals, grey aces, and others under the umbrella.

Also also, there’s aces who are into kink, but not genitals.

“and help that be a self-fulfilling prophecy by not caring that it makes people looking for others who are naturally not sexual very uncomfortable to be considered under the same label.”

Thanks for being among them. This is why I don’t use that descriptor online anymore, nor go to online asexual communities.

There’s a lot of people whose sexuality is NO, and being forced to share “safe” spaces online for their shared lack of sexuality with people who also say they’re asexual but their sexuality is YES is awkward, uncomfortable, and off-putting.

AKA no longer safe spaces (or a safe to use label) for those whose sexuality is NO.

Currently, thankfully, people offline still seem to understand “I’m asexual” means “No, I do not want to fuck. Not anyone, not ever.”

I would appreciate it if the two had separate labels so that they could enjoy their own commonalities, rather than being lumped into one despite being very, very different. Incompatibly different.

It feels like the equivalent of a lot of guys going into a space for gay guys, saying “I’m totally gay, but I really prefer sex with women and if you say a guy having sex with women ain’t gay then you’re just homophobic”.

Then on every single post about guys with guys, you get comments saying “Guys like girls too! Don’t forget about us!”

Like, Bisexual and Heterosexual are right there. Why go into a Homosexual space and change it instead?

You can be asexual – not experiencing sexual attraction to some degree – while still enjoying the act itself. But you can also be totally opposed to any sexual activity, it’s a spectrum like most sexualities.

Ace refers to who you are attracted to sexually, not what acts you find enjoyable. You can just enjoy the physical stimulation (also some aces enjoy sex with partners as a part of a romantic relationship, but not sure if that applies to what I said.

Some instance admins respond to report abuse and intentional troll brigading differently than Reddit would have. You can probably surmise what a ‘blahaj’ instance has to deal with.

Ultimately there being many instances and platforms for people to migrate to over, even on a whim is, in fact, a good thing. That sense of mobility and independence is valuable to the Fediverse.

Why would you want multiple accounts on the same software? Having a Mastodon, a Misskey/Sharkey, a Lemmy, a Mbin, a Wafrn, etc., that makes sense - each one of those have different tech and very different communities. But why would you want more than one Lemmy?

      • Insurance. Some big instances have closed down, others regularly go into maintenance, you never know when one might decide to enshittify itself. Federation gives us the ability to use a different instance if needed, and it costs nothing to have some accounts ready to use should you be unable to use your main one.
      • Compartmentation. Wouldn’t want to open the account where I’m subscribed mainly to porn on the bus or at work.
      • Access. Not all instances federate with the same set of instances. Having accounts on instances with different federation policies lets you access more of the fediverse.

I asked this question to someone I saw frequently instance hopping and they said it was related to instance federation and the spread of posted content, as well as their desire to advertise lesser known instances. I think it’s a little disorienting and creates the opportunity for dopplegangers but it was a much more satisfying motivation than avoiding bans.

I’ve swapped for various reasons: instance shutting down, defederation by major instance I interest with, etc, downvotes vs no downvotes. I also like having at least two I can easily swap between in case one is down.

Literally every single Lemmy instance I’ve ever joined (and then some) has suffered significant long-term outages or degradation of service on a semi-regular basis. I don’t use any other social media. So, when I’m looking for my “fix”, I don’t have time to bullshit around and wait for penis.gay to get to the bottom of their their issues. I want my engagement and I want it now. So off to lemmy.wtf I go if it’s up.

But also, some of us have serious accounts geared towards specific topics/hobbies, accounts where we might share information that could be publicly identifiable, and farting around shit post accounts all separated out. Easier to keep the creeps away.
