ok, I took one for the team and actually read the article. And the title (surprise!) is click-bait.

Vance casually informed a comedian over dinner what’s in the files connected to Jeffrey Epstein while trying to downplay their significance

They are now basically saying that the 10.000 hours of video evidence are all just commercial pornography, not videos of famous people. They are also saying Pam Bondi is not an idiot though, so I don’t exactly trust their judgement (although I do trust Vance to watch 10,000 hours of commercial pornography to make sure his couch is not featured in there)

They are incapable of evaluating the intelligence and competence of their own. When they say someone’s smart or competent, what they actually mean is they are a compliant lap dog that is loyal to them.

Yeah, this is how you’d start a smear campaign. Follow this up by having a freshly pardoned / commuted convicted sex trafficker give an interview where the names are all magically the same.

Never mind that we already know who is on the list because the victims already fucking told us.

The top level of the current GOP is a pedophile chistofascist cult. Full fucking stop.

Funny pope selection drama, with the caveat I know about this mostly in passing: allegedly Francis was a compromise vote because the guy that a large (but not majority) faction wanted was too controversial a pick. So they voted in Francis because he was already old and only had 1 lung, so how long could he have to live anyway? Turns out longer than the guy said faction wanted to elect.

And I know it’s memes, but if Vance did kill the pope it’s extremely funny he was replaced with the guy from Chicago who is against basically everything Trump is doing.

Vance is in the new evil empire crowd and has been for a very long time.

        https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2022/04/inside-the-new-right-where-peter-thiel-is-placing-his-biggest-bets

Thiel, Musk, Vance, Yarvin, Masters and a cast of the worst people on earth have plans.

        https://beforewewerewhite.substack.com/p/j-d-vance-gangs-and-scientific-racism

And people thought I was crazy

        https://lemmy.ca/post/34947790/13364820

Consider that Peter Thiel bankrolled JD Vance and that he, musk, zuck, et al have essentially established a technocratic state within the new admin. https://www.ft.com/content/408fb864-5831-4b1d-beef-fd1966b3beed

        https://www.cbsnews.com/news/jd-vance-trump-vp-peter-thiel-billionaire/

The Wall Street Journal reported that Musk might support that PAC to the tune of around $45 million per month. Musk has denied that specific claim since, but the America PAC, which is run by Lonsdale, appears to be created to support the “PayPal Mafia” worldview — which includes (and indeed depends on) the bankruptcy of the United States.

        https://washingtonspectator.org/peter-thiel-and-the-american-apocalypse/

At least PayPal had a suitably grand mission—the kind that post-bubble skeptics would later describe as grandiose: we wanted to create a new internet currency to replace the U.S. dollar.

~ Peter Thiel Zero to One https://archive.org/stream/zero-to-one-peter-thiel-and-blake-masters/Zero to One - Peter Thiel and Blake Masters_djvu.txt

I no longer believe that freedom and democracy are compatible.
