In the background is an aircraft with the registration CF-FJH. That aircraft was a Republic RC-3, manufactured in in 1947, and crashed in 1950. It was stationed at Chilliwack, BC, Canada.
Cool, so that actually narrows this photo down to a 3-year period.
Yep. Summer of '48, '49, or '50. And if you look in the background of this image, you can see the same short, white bollards and chains around the buildings at Chilliwack Municipal Airport. (The flying boat in the right foreground is CF-FJH)

Goddamn, good eye. I didn’t even notice that.
Clearly had some money to have a plane at the time. We can see 2 substantial rings on her hands.
Photo quality is excellent - can almost read a name on the side of the cowling.
Neat!
That’s a modern plane (and she wouldn’t wear that top in the 40s).
I believe it’s an Ercoupe, and that style was known in the 1940s
You know nothing
If they know that already, then they are very wise.

The aircraft tail in the background indicates that specific plane was manufactured in '47, and crashed in 1950, so the picture had to be taken in the summer of 48, 49, or 50.
In fairness to you, small aircraft general designs haven’t changed much over the decades, and I was also surprised to see that style of top before the 1960s.
That make and model first flew in 1937.
Guess all those 40’s movies I’ve watched where they wear such stuff were faked, like the moon landings.
