I feel like this design was way ahead of it’s time. It looks futuristic even now, 40 years later. It’s a shame that it remains just a concept.
Instead we ended up with midsized SUVs and everything looks like a stumpy running shoe. Oh well
My first thought was it looks similar to the 84 trans am

They just put sliding doors
It was based on the Corvette, so that makes sense seeing as the Trans Am was essentially just a cheaper version of the Corvette, both being produced by GM.
Yeah I had a family member that owned one years back. Loved the car, but had an issue with the spoiler, the way it was weighted, or if you had some friend that wasnt thinking and they shut the truck by the spoiler, it would slowly break the seal around where it connected to the trunk. Not really noticeable to the eye, but it starts allowing moisture to get in, and starts rusting from the inside around the base of the spoiler.
This is dope as fuck
I feel like this influenced one or two of the cars in Cyberpunk.
For reference, the Cyberpunk board game came out in 1989. I’m not just talking about the 2020 video game, hence leaving off the 2077 part — the OG was Cyberpunk 2013 and there was also Cyberpunk Red. The 2020 game is very faithful to the designs from 1989.
Oh, and loads of Cyberpunk cars had doors that opened non-traditionally, too. But I meant the body shape of this car.
That’s what I’ve been thinking as well. It definitely fits the theme and “technical” design language.
Those doors!!
Looks unique and kinda sick, and I usually don’t really care for front engined 2 seat sports cars, because they typically, IMO, look comically misproportioned.
