Do you not see your internal suffering by seeing other people suffering as work? You could force yourself to stop caring and then you wouldn’t have to carry that weight off other’s suffering.

as i have told those around me repeatedly, i am fundamentally incapable of not feeling empathy all the time, it’s fucking miserable
No, I don’t see it as work. It doesn’t require any additional effort on my part. It takes more effort for me to not care.
