I watched Miller during World Baseball Classic playing for team USA. He was a very impressive pitcher and he won me as a fan. I hope his success only continues. It would be amazing if he could be a San Francisco Giant (my team) but honestly, he is good enough to be in the biggest markets, and on the winning teams.

Houston Astros could be a particularly tough transition. Maybe Seattle Mariners would have been easier for him because there is more Japanese influences there. Or a team with Japanese players already on the roster. Supposedly he said he didn’t want to be on a team with another Japanese player on it.

I, as a Californian, would struggle with adjusting to Houston too.

Unless I missed some context, I am really surprised Lopez got suspended for 4 games. (at first it was 7, then reduced to 4 for both of them, plus fines) I really thought Lopez had taken more of a defensive position, and that Soler was the aggressor, and started the fight.

I felt like Lopez was backing up the entire time, while watching his aggressor, and only made contact with Soler when the dude was within reach, and trying to hit Lopez.

I have to assume that Lopez accidentally threw the ball at Soler earlier in the game, and it wasn’t intentional.

It was a great fight to watch. I love watching a baseball fight. But Unless I missed something, I was of the opinion that Soler was more at fault than Lopez, and possibly earned himself a larger suspension than Lopez.

Imai has had 3 different interpreters since Spring Training, so it could be isolating not being able to communicate or connect with people.

I think more baseball stadiums in Japan are covered, so pitching in rain/mist/breeze may be a struggle.

I know I would struggle in Japan with the different diet, or serving meals slightly different. It’s nice to have familiarity.

I don’t really sympathize for ballplayers making over $15 million a year, but I guess good luck to him and let’s see if he can adapt to the USA.

I got really into following baseball last season.

Currently, the Rockies are tied for second to last with the Giants, White Sox, and Red Sox. Unfortunately your teams have lost as many games as my team. I’m a bit intrigued as to why someone from Denmark would follow the Rockies verses the Dodgers or Yankees? Even I can admit that Dodgers have a great team, but I live near the Giants, that is why they are my team. Are there any players on the teams that you are feeling good about?

I’m guessing when you say you’re a Sox fan, that you mean the Red Sox? A lot of Red Sox fans ask me about my opinion on Rafael Devers. They traded him to the Giants last season, and I’m not like terribly impressed. He has helped us win a couple games recently with some RBIs, so that was exciting, but I don’t see him as our best batter, I don’t see him hitting as equal to Red Soxs fans enthusiasm for him. I hope he grows on me, but it’s been a cold start.

IIRC the ordinance was to wear masks outside but people were allowed to take them off inside because that’s where they were eating, drinking, and doing stuff. So good intentions but would have been more effective if the policy was reversed.
