rpg@ttrpg.network•Interesting premises for "Frontier Exploration" games?
4·2 days agoRe-colonization. The region WAS belonging to your patron nation, then some sort of catastrophe forced people out of it, now the place can be recolonized safely, after someone fixed it and clears all wildlife (or worse) that overtaken it.
Could LotR scenes be used as examples to explain various mechanics from Pathfinder 2e?

3·27 days agoI personally get pissed when I ask for advice how much backstory is ok for game starting at level 3 or 5 and people still tell me to be dumb nobody who doesn’t know how to hold a sword, even though that makes no fucking sense.
I died at “refuses to recognize the authority of the Player’s Handbook”
Well, running PF1 put me off RPGs for nearly a decade because I hated that system so much, so probably.
And then you could get them on a caster and they would do it much better.

In 2e Pathfinder, yes. In 1e…no because 1e is just D&D 3.5 with a paintjob and there Fighter SUUUUCKED.
This is still miles ahead of Fighter in 3.5 which simply didn’t exist. It was two levels you took to get extra feats for your REAL class and no one ever took more.

3·2 months agoIf you told me you play “games similair to d&d” I’d assume you mean Pathfinder or OSR and that would make me likely disinterested, as I’m head deep in WoD and Warhammer Fantasy right now
I didn’t get it until I actually learned who Hassan even is. It’s a good joke OP, dunno why you’re getting downvoted.

4·4 months agoI heard Tolkien regretted making Orcs inherently evil and was thinking of replacing that with something else, but I cannot find which letter was that in.

51·4 months agoI wish it was true that this is only “people who only play D&D” problem but I have also seen those argument with people who participate in rpg online communities or forums where they know and play other games. I’ve seen videos whining about orcs come from same channel with something like a 100 reviews of various different rpgs. Sadly I do not think this is only people who only play D&D who are the problem here.
Specifically how in early 2000’s on online forum in Q&A thread someone asked him if Paladin should fall for killing Kobold children, and he replied no because “nits make lice”, which is the exact same words John Chivington used to try to weasel his way out of being court-martialled for mass murder of Native American women and children.
