All he is doing is ahowing that racism is ok now. He’s showing that tolerance of bigotry is currently ok as long as it’s a means to a political end. Which is different in intent and context, but as you say, not necessarily different in outcome, for some. The difference between “benefits him politically”(starmer & johnson) vs “is a bigoted arsehole”(farage).
