That’s the kind of situation in which you should apply tarrifs. Instead of surrendering, the EU should apply a 50% tarrif on all US cloud services and subsise the growth of European alternatives.
Tariffs are not an option anymore, I think. Subsidies are though.
Why not? Trump’s gonna change his mind in about 5 minutes anyways and is going to slap new tariffs on EU on a whim, when he feels like it.
EU governments migrating off Amazon/Microsoft/Google and onto EU providers would go a long way towards supporting them…
