Basically what the title says. I am from Denmark, know very little about baseball except the basic rules and that the Rockies are awesome.

In Denmark nobody cares about baseball, so I am looking for someone to talk too. Will you talk with me?

Oh I meant like between the different teams. Like do they each team play all other teams or do they stay in there regional leagues or how does it get organised pre season ?

Oooooooooo huh that’s a good question idk. I would guess it’s decided to minimize travel but still give each team different opponents. I cant imagine the undertaking it is to schedule and coordinate all these games.

I just googled the schedule and it looks like there are some funky games too lol. The Sox play a college team and the Rockies play the “United States”.

Which lead me to the knowledge that baseball is coming back to the Olympics in 2028! Also known as: Japan v United States and also the other guys.

lol, Rockies vs the United States seems unfair :P and so does the Sox playing a college team haha. But yay! It is gonna be fun watching it in the 28 olympics! I would love to see a Danish team competing! Getting absolutely recked sure, but still :P

Btw is there ever any cross league games in the MLB ?

Haha indeed! I wonder if we’ll get some funky strategies from the countries that don’t play that much

Yup! They changed the scheduling a bit in 2023 to make sure every team plays every other team. I think it alternates on the year who is the host team. So the Sox will play the Rockies at Coors in late June this season :D

            Ooooh you’re going down then.! Maybe… Hopefully… Ehm…

I forgot. Did you live in Boston ? Or were you one of the greater North Eastern area Sox fans ?

Heheh it’ll be a great series either way :p I’m excited to see the Sox play in Coors! We have a power hitter or two that could hit one heck of a homer

I live in Cambridge which is technically not Boston but it’s a 10 minute walk to Boston proper so not that separate lol

Are you ready for the air pressure ? Spinning balls tend to have a lower drop in Coors than other places! But yeah, it’s gonna be a good series. Especially now that I have a connection to the opposing team as well!

Yeah okay. I have the same situation going on, so I would say you live in Boston :p

Oh my gosh bc there is less air to push against? That’s kinda crazy! Y’all must have to take that into account when you pick pitchers. A tricksy pitcher throwing mostly curveballs and cutters would have a harder time than a speed demon. Lorenzen does seem to have his fastball as his primary pitch so that’s probably good for him.

Heheh yeah it’s usually easier to just say Boston lol

Exactly! And yes we have to… but of course we don’t, because you know :p but it is very cool. It is not only fastballs though. I have a hard time explaining, but it mostly effect balls that try to work against gravity with its spin. Balls that curve horizontally is still effected of course, but less than vertical curves.

It really demands good pitchers, because they have to be able to take into account the weird way the ball behaves at Coors, but also be able to pitch normally in away games.

It really makes me sad, that the Rockies have such bad management, because they could really be a cool team. Like maybe not top tier, but at least decent and with fun games because of those weird mechanics of the high altitude. Which also would make it sad if the team just got moved.
