I strongly believe that Spotify should be removed as a suggestion and added to the incumbent/boycott category due to the reasons already mentioned in the red warning box. I urge everyone to cancel their subscriptions and when you cancel they will ask why, please mention the reason you canceled is because Spotify gave billions to Joe Rogan who’s basically a lie and propaganda factory.
Spotify is a pillar of support for the Trump regime. Spotify’s CEO donated $150000 to Trump and hosted brunch for him. He also did the typical billionaire hissy fit threatening to leave Sweden unless they make tax cuts. He’s just another right-wing billionaire and not worth your support.

Tidal is good. Plus you can import all your playlists and likes from Spotify so it’s easy to switch. It’s cheaper and pays artists better
I hear Qobuz is good too. It also isn’t American.
I haven’t heard of it i’ll check it out
i liked qobuz but it halved the battery life on my phone. i’ve had much better luck with tidal. but i do think qobuz is more ethical
Oh really, that is a huge bummer. Battery life is a huge issue.
I did notice something odd. I installed Qobuz just to have it for later. I can’t remember if I even opened it, but I definitely didn’t log in or anything, and yet the app was listed under running apps despite me closing it over and over. It was just opening itself in the background all the time.
That’s not a great sign, is it.
I use a sound bar connected to WiFi and Tidal would only play the first song in an album and then quit if I was using wifi on the sound bar. I had to go back to Spotify because of it.
I’ve been testing out tidal and Qobuz. Tidal is an easier switch from Spotify but I’ve seen that their ceo is also not great/a Zionist. I haven’t seen too much though so idk. If anyone has info either way that’d be helpful. If I’m gonna switch for ethical reasons I might as well go all the way. That said Qobuz has a noticeable increase in sound quality
Should I switch here?
So far the pros are ethics, music quality, and you can buy drm free music from them if you want. Cons are they’re smaller than the other companies so their catalog isn’t as complete (they had like 85% of my Spotify music), and their app is not as feature complete and at times buggy.
You can do the free trial and they allow you to transfer your music for free, though it may take a few days to get the link. It’s through soundbiz or something.
Personally I think I’ll try them out for a bit longer, the missing music is the more niche stuff. Otherwise I’ll do more research into tidal and decide.
