“Digging a hole” is more of a metaphor. Could also be applied to putting a lot of effort and time into any craft that looks and sounds meaningless on the surface. I work on an open-source game engine for at least a decade (to save myself, usually I only work a few hours on it at once), but I’m also looking into building my own guitar pedals, and maybe once I can start making headless guitars out of carbon fiber and with neodymium pickups, the ultimate sacrilige against guitar traditionalist snobs.
Maybe, but as a young lad I had a weird drive to dig holes in dirt. I always bugged my parents but they never let me. Then one year I dug a bunch of post holes working for my dad. Now I think dirt is fine where it currently is.
I wanted to chainsaw a tree as a kid. Now that ive climbed a tree as an adult and chopped its limbs off whilst hoping the chain doesn’t snap - I’m done.

My parents let me have a dirt pit when I was a kid, it was a fucking blast. It sorta went away when it evolved into bike jumps
oh yep that’ll do it.

Back to planting, and nurturing thanks
