The only person who’s written a good, modern Blade story—Marc Guggenheim—has had nothing to do with this project so far. IDK if he’s “too in” with DC to be a viable option, but it’s odd he has not been involved it when he’s the only obvious option… it’s not like modern Blade has a ton of great comic book arcs.
So they didn’t like the script.
I’m OK with this. The script needs to be good first. Then make the movie. That’s how it should be.
Blade still holds up today. Not sure it really needs to be redone honestly.
Just give Mahershala Ali a sword and start filming, let the story develop organically.

I say push it back to post X-men, and do the Jubilee vampire arc with Blade as a Jubilee movie featuring Blade or vice versa
