    Amazon has financed the Expanse. That’s it. The evil fuckers have zero credit to the quality of the TV adaptation. It was two seasons at SyFy - then, sadly but unsurprisingly, SyFy was unable to turn it into a source of revenue (Hi Firefly :( ) and amazon financed it because the shitbucket in chief at amazon is an Expanse fan.

        indeed - you are correct. I thought it was 3 for a long time then somewhere mistakenly picked up that the transition happened after season 2. My bad.

      Then why did it get so much worse after it shifted to Amazon? The first three seasons are a good adaptation, the next three spiral and make some really bad changes to the text of the books. I recommend that new viewers only watch enough to get hooked and then go read the books.

        I read the books and I think both tell a good story in their own right. What was it that annoyed you so much about the TV adaptation? The only thing I kind of disliked was

        spoiler

        how Fred went out :::.

      I feel like Amazon totally missed the boat on this too.

      Like, where was the merch? why didn’t they capitalize on the popularity of it? where were the T-shirts, the cosplay outfits, the toys, the model kits? you know the Expanse fanbase would buy model kits.

      They have a fucking online retail store, which they control the advertising on, plus every possible contact in the manufacturing industry they could possibly need. Promoting merch for the series would’ve been so fucking easy, and producing it would’ve cost them next to nothing compared to the show production.

        Well - I don’t spend time on what amazon may or may not have missed, that business is as evil as a corporation can get, and the asshole owner can fuck right off to hell. He doesn’t suddenly become a good person just because he saved one TV show that I liked, and for entirely selfish reasons.

          Oh no, certainly not.

          My point is, it should’ve been super easy for them to further capitalize on this IP, but they did nothing instead.
