Comrades, I have a good friend who’s in need of some history books. Specifically he knows nothing about British empire, russian empire and Mongolian empire.

Is there anything y’all can recommend?

He’s a teacher, he reads a lot. I’m not thinking he’s going to become Marxist or anything, but some dialectics won’t hurt him.

I would recommend Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism by Lenin. It does a very good job in outlining the economic situation of Europe before the war, as well as the economics of colonialism.

A more focused (and easier to read) book is The Crimes of British Imperialism.
