I’m using Lemmy’s built in crosspost functionality. Blame Nutomic for the fact it’s duplicated across your feed. A better developer would have made it so crossposts only get delivered to the feed once. In fact, I think Piefed has that feature already iirc

I dont like the nutomic any more than you, but if there is a better alternative with Piefed, then why not just use that. If its actually better, people will eventually stop using lemmy and nutomic will become irrelevant and lose any power they might have. You wont be able to separate the lemmy repository from its owners unless you make a fork.

The effort to remove the devs from Lemmy pre-exists this DM from nutomic. It doesn’t justify his statement, and I think he didn’t really apologize in the many port mortem discussions about the DM that have taken place since.

Now I don’t know about OP here but for a while the same people trying to take down the Lemmy devs kept finding themselves banned from trans spaces and communities.

So I am always a little skeptical about these kinds of threads and efforts to boycott, etc, especially when theres piefed and the fact we’re in the Fediverse and not a reddit or meta-owned system.

This petition can be a tool to get people on board with Piefed if Dessalines doesn’t fire Nutomic

Fwiw when I’m posting the same thing to multiple Communities, I like to space them out in time. Partly to avoid bothering people with what might be perceived as spam, but also to maximise the chance that people online at different times might see it.
