I know that I’m working on a “dark side”… But ad-tech are offering really interesting tasks about building very complex infrastructure besides they are paying well.
I am a software engineer living and working in Belgrade, Serbia. My hobbies contain a lot of things including cycling, bikepacking, photography. My political view are closer to left-wing anarchism.
All the photos are made by myself (if not specified other) and are shared under CC-BY 4.0.

There are petabytes of collected data (even in a relatively small ad-tech companies I had a chance to work on; on a facebook/google scale it is much more). Someone should write all the cleaning, processing, de-duplication and matching (aka fingerprinting) steps as well as make this data usable by AI / Machine Learning guys, who will make models that predicts what ad to show to each user based on the available data. I’m working on processing, cleaning, matching and preparing of these data.

If the ICE agent would be not white, I’m sure cop would just shot him without questions.

Ah, that were far-right who forced BBC to introduce censorship on Palestine and pro-genocide politics. Yes, of course.

By working as a data engineer in ad-tech companies and seeing how big is actually an amount of information collected about you.

“How will privacy and anonymity be attacked?” […] like so many other “computer hacker” items, as a tool for the “Four Horsemen”: drug-dealers, money-launderers, terrorists, and pedophiles.
There are two types of libertarians. One type wants to remove the government because they believe the government is the main source of oppression and exploitation. The second type wants to remove the government because they think the government blocks them from oppressing and exploiting people.
It seems that the second type is dominant in the USA.

War criminal is also a pedophile. What a surprise.
And what about privacy? Do people still have a right for anonymous payments, or if one needs to buy, for example, big dildo in a sex shop, both bank’s manager and the government should know about it? And besides jokes, do they really want to build a system with a full control of financial operations of citizens? Sounds like a step to the neo-GULAG for me (GULAG is a name of the system of opression camps that exiated in the former USSR). Especially in Albania, that is still quite far away from the top of democracy and freedom ratings.

It looks like the state surveillance fo their citizens everywhere, including social network is from a very rare kind of questions where the position of neo-libertarians meets the position of neo-liberals.

I’m curious is it a coincidence that both of these “peacemakers” were from conservative parties of their countries?
I agreed about media. The story is much more complex as usual, there was good and there was bad about USSR. I do not like the idea of taking only good or only bad about USSR from the history to aggressively and manipulatively push somthing.
And I do not like when anyone’s family past is used for politival advantage or disadvantage. Like why is it matter where who was born, who was one’s grandpa or something, etc. when we are talking on current days politics? Focus on the present problem.
I only left this commentary because for me making a meme with mentioning only her father is kind of manipulation. There is the fact that her family (mother) was oppressed. Technically speaking she doesn’t lie when she is is saying that. The “meme” is trying to portrait it like she is lying by providing only half of information and by ignoring another half. I just do not like it. And it is not against what did you say.

I think proton is the most blocked by governments group of services in the entire world. To have a backup in .kbdx file sounds at least like a good idea.
During the March 1949 Soviet mass deportations, Kallas’ mother, Kristi, six months old at the time, grandmother and great-grandmother, all labeled as “enemies of the state”, were deported to Siberia. Her mother was allowed to return to Soviet-occupied Estonia in 1959.
I think she was talking about her mother as victim of USSR, not about his father.
According to the Movember Foundation, a leading men’s health organization and partner of UN Women, two-thirds of young men regularly engage with masculinity influencers online.
While some content offers genuine support, much of it promotes extreme language and sexist ideology, reinforcing the idea that men are victims of feminism and modern social change.
So, 2/3 of young men are risking to become incels, right? Because it is hard to imagine a young girl who is looking for a partner with hyperfocus on his own masculinity as well as a partner, who portraits himself as victim? That is sad…

I heard that in USA Telegram is used mostly by conservatives, trans-haters and drug dealers. But in Russia where I was born and where I have been living until the war, Telegram was a single source of alternative news and the main tool for opposition to putin. I had a talk with an Iranian guy recently and he told me the same: in Iran Telegram is the only source of non-state-propaganda news.
I do not care that Durov is just a billionaire who makes money on the trend of privacy. But I remember how Telegram successfully fought against attempt of blocking in Russia in 2018 by providing regular updates and using different techniques to avoid blocking. An attack on Telegram for me is an attack on the latest opposition to putin, khamenei, lukashenko and others.
To be honest, I do not understand, why people try to judge quotes by its authors. If Adolf Hitler once said that Erarth is round, the authorship doesn’t make this quote automatically false. Even bloody dictators can say sometimes something truly, whats the problem here?
Pter Thiel is gay, isn’t it? Does it mean, that Epstein sold not only young girls, but boys too?
