  • So frustrating, and I’m sorry you’re dealing with that.

    However, the fact that you are experiencing this on a program meant for learning might actually be able to give you some solace; the people using chatbots to pass will not have learnt anything, and will find things tricky once they need to actually apply their knowledge. You’ve already seen that when their code breaks, they immediately run back to the chatbot.

    These robots work for small specific tasks sometimes, but if you use them you miss out on actually learning the thought processes and miss out on gaining the understanding that will be critical in an actual business environment.

    I have colleagues who use ChatGPT for all their code. I often have to fix it. They sometimes take credit for those fixes. It’s annoying, but I know their careers are stuck in a quagmire because they’re not interested any more.

    I like to learn, like to fix things, and like to get better at my work. There’s some peace in that for me, at least.
