I was banned out of the blue, even though I just posted in tech and fandom subs, and never in 10 years had an encounter with a mod. So there’s definitely something wrong with the tool they’re using.

And I’ve seen those comment threads you mention. It’ll be a normal, friendly conversation with a random “[ removed by reddit ]” in the middle. I started joking to myself whenever I see one of those, that there was someone saying something really awful in that comment despite the rest of the conversation flowing completely peacefully (sometimes including replies like “I totally agree!”).

I’ve even found posts in tech subs after doing a web search, where the cached result looks like an issue I’m having, but when I load the post it’s “[removed by reddit]” and there’s no drama or anything to indicate that the removal made any sense.

My favorites were the ones I’d see old ladies riding in town in the 90’s. They were tricycles: one tire in front, and two in the back with a large basket between them. They’d go buy groceries and come back without straining themselves with the bags.

Oh I noticed this yesterday or earlier today, and I was wondering if I was the only one seeing this bug.

The only major allergy I have, I developed very randomly one night in my teens. I was hanging out with friends, I always loved cats, and they had this adorable cat that got super sweet with me. Next thing I know, my eyes are almost swollen shut. I’ve never been able to touch cats again.

Yeah, where I’m from, you either pass things down to family and friends, or resell them, there’s no throwing tech away.

I have no hope of ever having a normal relationship with them. I avoid talking about myself, my thoughts and feelings, and just nod and bite my tongue. The world won’t change if I make them see the truth, so I’m not going to bother trying, just to bring more issues between us and risk being alienated even further.

Really depends on where you live. If you’re not in the first world, you don’t just find tech gadgets randomly on the street.

Is it because digital portraits aren’t available in your country? Or because you’re not aware they exist? Because they do, and they’re not as expensive as tablets.

I think my instance has downvotes disabled or hidden. It also has a neat alternative front-end which turns upvote buttons into hearts, so it’s more of a “like” count.

It’s much more peaceful that way.

With how they’re also ramping up Christian crap in schools, I imagine them putting little wings and halos, and having kids pray for the drones.

Oh, I just watched it. I thought the title was exaggerating and they just called an API, but no, it’s really built in Minecraft. Pretty neat, from a technical point of view.

DualSense (PS5) for me works right out of the box, especially in PC ports of PS games. It’s USB-A to USB-C, so no prop cables.

They’re not available in my country, as far as I’m aware.

I’ve always played video games one way or another, so I consider them all to be life changing. In a general sense, because getting games in my country wasn’t easy in the 80’s and 90’s, and most would bring them from the US, so I learned English through the games, which opened the possibility to hang out (online) with people from around the world.

But I think there’s two games that marked me:

Vampire the Masquerade Redemption, because until then I hadn’t played any story-driven true RPG. And after I finished it, I moved on to games like Fallout and Dragon Age, which led me to learn about modding, communities, etc.

The Last of Us, because until then no game (no matter how much I loved it) made me feel so intensely. I played it in several days, and each day I was emotionally exhausted. The ending left me speechless. I would wake up every day feeling like I’d been hit by a truck, for about a week or two.
