Well it’s getting better, and fast imo. When I started using Linux some 4 years ago I could barely play anything in my library. If the game had online functionality in any way, chances were it didn’t run. That has gotten a lot better imo but Proton is still not where it needs to be. But things change and from what I, as a consumer, can see it seems like the biggest problem now are invasive Anti-Cheats rather than anything fundamentally breaking the games.
Edit: but yeah, it sucks when shit ain’t working and the small fraction of stuff not working is still a bit much to swallow

0·2 years agoho boy, here we go again.
At this point in time that conflict has been going on for so long, I have no clue anymore who started it. So all I can do is judge both sides by their current actions without historical justification which, to me, results in fanatical religious fascists fighting fanatical religious fascists with neither side caring for civilian casualties. Not exactly a situation in which I’d support any side tbh.

Nobody tell this guy what the EU’s Digital Markets Act means for Apple and iMessage…

pretty much, AI (LLMs specifically) are just fancy statistical models which means that when they ingest data without reasoning behind it (think the many hallucinations of AI our brains manage to catch and filter out) it corrupts the entire training process. The problem is that AI can not distinguish other AI text from human text anymore so it just ingests more and more “garbage” which leads to worse results. There’s a reason why progress in the AI models has almost completely stalled compared to when this craze first started: the companies have an increasingly hard time actually improving the models because there is more and more garbage in the training data.
