We have no squirrels here, and I didn’t know that they barked. Thank you for this knowledge.

markko@lemmy.worldto Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Denmark zoo asks public to donate unwanted small pets or horses to feed captive predatorsEnglish5·13 days agoI agree with the other response - I don’t care about my meat sack once it’s no longer operational. Harvest my useful organs for donation, then feed the rest to the kitties.
The difference between humans and other animals is that we understand the concept of death and can make our post-life wishes known.
If my children told me they wanted to be fed to the tigers I’d probably still be horrified by the image of it but I wouldn’t push back.
Our pets can’t communicate their wishes to us, and in all likelihood they don’t care what happens to them when they’re dead. Putting their meat to some kind of use seems far more ethical to me than turning it into ash or sticking it in the ground.

Would you expect a news outlet to be able to somehow verify the testimony of a prisoner of war before reporting on it?
The title and article both make it clear that they are reporting his story.
Additionally, the rest of the article - including the ones before and after your quote - discusses numerous cases of other similar scenarios.
I’d imagine you’d need a browser that has developer tools, which is far less common on mobile. A simpler solution would be to use a separate app that just takes the page URL and downloads the video for you, such as this one: https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.junkfood.seal/

markko@lemmy.worldto You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK that apart from not having a car and voting, the single greatest thing you can do for the climate is simply eating less red meat.8·1 month agoThe bulk of your post is probably the reason why consumption goals aren’t given - it’s not going to be the same for everyone.
Anyone who only eats 1 steak per year is unlikely to see a general statement like “reduce your red meat consumption” and think “oh no, I’m eating too much red meat”, because they are likely well aware of how much the average person eats compared to them.
Is it even an ethnicity?
