Different topic but ewaste today is absolutely insane. People throw out working post-2015 “gaming laptops” - maybe a dead battery or something equally simple to fix.

The entire segment he got famous for was that “Israel has a right to exist as a state with equal rights” clip. With people pretending that was some kind of radical take and not literally the “Israeli” propaganda about what their state is. And now here’s definitively proven them wrong. So what is his value? “MAGA tears”?
The abolition of a state is an extremely different thing than the genocide of its inhabitants. Conflating them in this case is usually just an attempt to give legitimacy to something horrifically illegitimate and evil - accusing the people wanting to abolish it of wanting to commit genocide, when the state itself is actively committing genocide, now, and for the entirety of its history. It’s a genocidal state. If you’re anti-genocide, then you MUST support the state’s abolition.
The vibes are impeccable though.

11·25 days agoCan’t imagine how someone thinks this is even a good business move. “Israel” gov doesn’t need hobbyist grade quick deploy pipeline. A ton of the people who do will boycott.
Lost track of my reddit bans. Really lost track of my subreddit bans. I really stacked them up late 2023.

1·1 month agoCorrecting the U.S. superiority complex by making them play by the same rules as everyone else seems wildly appropriate to me. And also doesn’t cater to any persecution fantasies.
It’s the episode where it’s “Columbus Day,” and the mobsters are getting indignant about the suggestion Columbus was a mass murderer, while local indigenous people are protesting it. Tony says something like “in this house Christopher Columbus is a hero.”
The way this scene on the show is so much uglier.

31·1 month agoNo reason to exclude people, lots of reasons to not give them unilateral vetoes though. Or to not recognize illegitimate states beyond the people they supposedly represent. Hmm.

1·1 month agoI did not really mind the Palestine comments because he basically denies the state of Israel in the way he framed it.
But stated the opposite. His words (maybe slightly paraphrasing) - “Israel has a right to exist as a state with equal rights”. That’s not denying it. That’s defining its “right to exist” within the same terms they themselves use to describe it. The correct, truthful answer is “states don’t have a right to exist”. We don’t have time for clever riddles that play both sides.

4·1 month agoIt’s a manipulative fallacy. Humanity has the total ability to control its destiny within what’s physically possible. People presenting two options and demanding a choice of one discount every possibly out of an infinite set of possibilities except those two.

232·1 month agoThe very video about Palestine he got famous for, he was already full of shit in. “Israel has a right to exist… (as a state with equal rights)”? No. It doesn’t. States don’t have a right to exist and that state is predicated on claiming to have equal rights while being institutionalized apartheid.
This is more of the same. I left NYC, among other reasons, because it’s a miniature police state, with the NYPD leading the charge. The fuck is he even going to do as mayor if he’s not going to rein them in?

Because the political machinery is captive to the ruling class.
