What you feel and what you care about doesn’t always make it through to your actions.
Haven’t you heard the ones who say “I hate league of legends”, and proceeds to play it all day? There is the general dislike for AI lately, then people use it when they need to anyways.
It really bothers me to see, someone stand so hard by their point, and then give it time, and see they are happily consuming what they originally hated.
Is it the urge to look good from the outside or what?
Mmm this thumbnail… clicks save
Hmm, maybe some more diversity? Right now it seems to be mostly hypernerds who use fediverse services. When was “Ask Lemmy” about web development questions… you know
When my introverted social battery is below 70%, I believe I’m generally not a fun person to hang out with
Looking forward to what AI can do
Scared of what AI can do
I used to be like this too. I thought it would be too mainstream to have a website rather than a natively compiled application running on the computer…
And then my friend in high school started this thing on his laptop… a website… it was server side rendered… pretty satisfying… Then it took off…
I think the web can be nice with the right mix. I’m personally not too fan of these pages that are just white if you don’t turn on JavaScript. It’s just a feeling, nothing special. From a business perspective it makes sense, to throw all the rendering to the devices to save cost.
A service or a website to find other websites. Search engine nowadays uses sentences, but why can’t we use tags and filters?
Google and duckduckgo may give 4 HUGE websites, but nothing more than that. Why can’t I just see all the unique different services all listed up?
Mega contrast of social interactions. Now nearly for 2 months I needed a lot of alone time reflecting and collecting myself after a breakup…
Then this week is suddenly mega full where I’m attending my first career convention, meeting tons of new people at the same time having a blast talking about tech stuff. None of my (IRL) friends are into tech, so it feels nice to talk to someone on the same wavelength there.
Then also this week, looking for apartments, also meeting new people in that scope too…
Then ALSO this week I’m getting visited by 2 friends in the weekend…
Just… oh my god… I guess I’m finally finding myself back on track where things should be. But damn the contrast is so hard I can’t stop smiling both internally and externally

I might have been lucky, but all the places I’ve lived at in Norway was always under 10 minute of walking. I’ve lived in 4 different places across Agder.
I am fully involved with the music algorithm. I like that song!, clicks radio on it. Oh, this song is nice, clicks radio on that and so on.
I discover music from whatever service has the best algorithm to find what I enjoy. Sometimes it’s from amatures, sometimes it’s from unheard of artists. I rarely ever hear a song with over 100,000 plays, and I believe nobody but my mom thinks my music taste is good…
It’s a bit unfortunate. In 2018, I was envisioning a future where people generally would pay using cryptocurrency… because it is a technology that works by design, decentralized… how is this not just the set solution?
At the time i was selling some used stuff on our national popular marketplace, but nobody wanted to pay me with crypto.
Now lately it just carries this dark atmosphere of being used for bad and illegal services.
Me and my close friend would send each other crypto when owning up for stuff like paying the rest of the half of the food when he paid for us both. He lost interest, and we eventually went back to normal stuff.
Though with the hopefully coming traction of decentralized services like fediverse services, maybe we’ll also then see a new traction of cryptocurrency being an ok option for payment again.
They already had a controversy some time (years?) ago, saying stuff like “Bitcoin is all we need”, “everything other than Bitcoin is a shitcoin”, “we don’t want to associate with the criminal record Monero carries”… something like that.
What you can do is to use non-kyc exchanges, send XMR in, exchange to Bitcoin, and withdraw directly to Proton. Proton won’t be all hurr durr about dirty Bitcoin.
The title should be something like “How to immigrate from Iran to Europe?”. Not “hello” or “…”
