Genshin specifically. Used to run it on Lutris, but the new anti-cheat they have would kill it if it’s not run through Steam on Linux. Quite sure they want to keep it running on the deck, it seems like the perfect platform for this kind of games (don’t have the steam deck though, so don’t quote me on that).

I have switched last year and Hoyoverse works without problems (using Steam).
And what’s beautiful is that the one right under has a comment “we don’t use thi…”
This code looks like so much fun to debug…

Games@lemmy.world•Nearly 90% of Windows Games now run on Linux, latest data shows — as Windows 10 dies, gaming on Linux is more viable than everEnglish
3·20 days agoI have a 3090ti. Made the switch to Linux last year after reading that most games work. Never had a problem with the card, it works flawlessly out of the box (using the proprietary Nvidia drivers).
It still was a bit of a learning curve for me though… Using steam they work without a hitch. If they are not on steam, I found that the easiest (for me) is to install them using lutris, and then adding them to steam as non-steam games and using Proton to run them.
I don’t play that many games though, so ymmv

Europe@feddit.org•Italy to raise tax on super-rich foreigners by 50pc in blow to wealthy non-domsEnglish
4·29 days agoIt is basically a ceiling to how much you can pay in taxes.
A foreigner moving to Italy can either
- enter the normal taxation regime, and pay according to all (domestic and foreign) incomes they have;
- decide to pay 200.000€ a year + 25.000€ per family member, no questions asked on foreign income (for up to 15 years).

15·1 month agoSorry, I was not clear. The government that made the first law (100k “flat tax” for rich people moving to Italy) was the PD (theoretically centre-left) guided by Renzi (that I would consider 100% centre-right politician, hence what I meant)…
I am completely agree that FdI is far-right, hell many members of the government are big fans of Mussolini and the fascist party…

501·1 month agoIt is still comically low… From 200k to 300k per year, regardless of whatever income they have, in the hope that coming to Italy they will “trickle down” their wealth (we know well how ridiculous that statement is).
The worst part is that it was made by a centre-right government masquerading as centre-left…
I mean, it was normal getting a bit beaten up a kid for doing dumb stuff. It builds character! That’s why everyone ended up so funcional as adults, no? … No?
Sounds super rough… Really hope things worked out in the end and you’re all better now!
Wow… So you are expected to feel ghosted/rejected 100 times a week, and upwards to 1500 in total? I wonder how healthy that must be for your psyche…
Pizza with Nutella/pistacchio cream is actually a relatively common dessert in pizza places in Italy…
And it’s generally either called American pizza or German pizza!
As an Italian kid I used to love it. As an adult not so much…
I believe the lowest point in my life was reached by getting a full kebab pizza (meat, lettuce, onions, tomato, mayonnaise, spicy sauce, etc…), and then dumping a whole portion of french fries on top.
Now I miss the days when I could eat something like that and still fill mostly human afterwards.

If it’s anything like what I have seen in other realities (that I have experienced and that people around me have seen) it’s all fear of missing out…
The CEO sees that it doesn’t work or it doesn’t help, but they keep hearing about this miraculous technology that will save lots of money, make everyone super productive and solve all the world issues, so they must be in on it or will be overrun by competitors. And when the results are not showing, it’s easier to blame the ones under, than to admit you have been cheated… But maybe I’m simply too cynical.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•Dear boss, here is my feedback on AI.
271·3 months agoWow, something is very wrong in your setup if you get those kind of errors… Let alone the fact that you get it from those kind of models (Claude 4, Gemini…?) I mean, this days even a model that runs on a raspberry pi is capable of coherent responses…
Not that I disagree that you cannot trust an LLM or that it has massive energy and water issues, but damn those problems in your company’s infrastructure are really next level!

Yes, but their “main competition” is (WuWa), and when they enabled their anti-cheat for Genshin that broke the game on Linux, they specifically coded a check to keep the game running though Steam (at least this is what people smarter than me says).
