Wow, I’ve been busy with a lot of stuff. That I haven’t done. The glory of VPN (that doesn’t keep logs) is you’re behind the noise of anyone else. Sometimes it’s better to not be hidden, but be in the crowded plain sight.
Profile pic is from Jason Box, depicting a projection of Arctic warming to the year 2100 based on current trends.

Given the period, there is an unwritten sigh at the beginning. With maybe a presumed pointing at their name that Brian either missed, or doesn’t know.
The best thing to pipe into an observation lounge is the tower/ground frequencies. Watching planes doesn’t have to be a Disney experience with a soundtrack.
All I can remember are the few times where he was asked a question along those lines and was completely unable to answer the question.
Unable to answer the question, and blamed the asker for a “nasty question” and some agenda to find fault.
The line in the song Creep that hits the hardest is, “I want you to notice, when I’m not around”.
The stock market is not the same thing as it was at the start, different players, different motives, and lots of failsafes. That time it was a signal that things were bad, this time we could continue to get worse and you’d never know it looking at the DOW.
I’m on the good row, depending on the store and distance back. I have on one occasion delivered a cart back to the store via my car (a good mile or so away) - it was left in our neighborhood, I was doing it for myself and neighbors, not the store, so I don’t know where that puts me. It’s the opposite of true neutral, since presumably someone poor had used it and discarded it.
When are we giving France their statue back?
Forgot the call to dilate_pupils.exe
Also, fake picture, as the typical reason for this there would be mangled tape pulled out of the cassette body.
Good thing we can do more than a single thing at a time.
The original point of BLM was…one group of people shouting stop killing their own to a nation that was oblivious and/or not caring. Arguing that other people are also dying kind of misses the point and helps to hide what BLM was trying to show.
It’s possible that the differences among those wanting to do good for everyone is what bottlenecks progress. While we all fight over HOW to make the same goals we share happen and not much gets done, the ones who don’t care about what their actions do make their own progress because it’s easier for them to agree on how to take and destroy.
Years ago they flashed up some bullet points of the ideas that AOC was talking about. Then quickly took them down when they realized that people would want those.
File that along with Hillary Clinton in the debate telling us exactly what Trump would do. People called her a liar then too.
It’s definitely catching on.
Oh, you mean the name, not the idea. Thing is, people who are still okay with all this will embrace such a name, they don’t have any compassion to care, ridicule or not.
Individual creatures do have their own traits that make them differ from the rest. They aren’t robots following the exact same instruction for every stimulus. That being said, personality implies a sense of agency or self-awareness, and I don’t think they have that. Humans have a built in desire to anthropomorphize anything that begins to resemble something human-like, it’s in our brain.
There is/was talk of getting something developed to catch up to Oumuamua (the first visitor we’ve found). It’s much “slower” at 26 km/s. This new one, Atlas is going about the same speed as New Horizons, the fastest probe we’ve done so far (and that was with numerous gravity boosts, meaning it took time). So yeah, without having something already in space ready and very fast acceleration, this one will be long gone.
