Most people have no idea their data is being scraped from the services they use either, that doesn’t mean they like it or that they should.
Unlike some folks in this thread, I never got an opt in pop up for the “features” on desktop or mobile.
The fields:

Gaming@beehaw.org•What are your top games to emulate on a long trip?
2·5 months agoI’ve been emulating a lot of 3DS games on my Deck, played these three quite extensively on a bus trip to NY:
Pokemon Ultra Sun (with Photonic Sun hack for catching em all, more interesting wild pokemon distribution and more challenging trainer battles)
Kirby Planet Robobot, the best 2D Kirby after Super Star
Fire Emblem Awakening

Yesterday my wife and I went to my best friend’s place. Our old friend, a neuroscientist formally pursuing her postdoc in Texas before all science lost its funding is staying with my best friend now. We ate Taco Bell, smoked weed, read Homestuck and cursed the government by candlelight. Is this community building?

Traditional media is captured by big business. Outlets like The New York Times, Reuters, CBS, etc frame conversations around AI this way because it shifts the liability away from the oligarchs at the wheel. They didn’t do wrong because the silly AI made a mistake not the innocent humans. And the AI said it’s sorry!
Yes, logically it holds as much water as saying the Furby ate your homework, but that’s the point. The purpose of saying GenAI is not just immune to blame but inevitable is to get the serving and consuming classes to surrender their control and critical thinking to the wealthy.
