As a professional, my reasoning for NOT using AI is as follows:

1. I don’t want to lose the muscle memory of what I do. Sure AI might be able to do annoying things like test templates… But that’s not a skill I want to forget or lose, as self written unit tests have actually helped me catch mistakes that “would have worked” in prod (i.e. Code functions, but has undesired outcomes). AI can’t usually spot that.
2. As a person who digs deep in cyber security and monitors heavily the malicious realm, I’m paranoid of malicious or weak code being spit into my repos.
3. I’m a privacy nut, too. Most “good” AI solutions are anti privacy.
4. If anyone here has done a proper code review of AI generated code from coworkers, they should know it adds a ton of extra time because of errors, inconsistencies with repo practices, etc and actually wastes the time of the developer and reviewers.

Am I saying “NEVER AI?”? nah. But it’s far from ready for me personally to even consider for programming purposes. I’m also well aware this isn’t what many others think or feel; I don’t scream at people for using it if it’s what they feel helps them.

Escape From Horrorland was the name I was thinking of! It’s got the interactive click videos too but a good number of mini games as well.

I don’t remember a dead hockey player, but it’s very possible I just don’t remember that. I think I remember the bat barn and the coffin scenes the most lol.

The theme park one? Yes I loved that game when I was a kid. Looks cheesy as hell now, lol.

I use to have the same thing but moved away from the tablet solution and I got myself a pi, and then setup a script to auto start (after boot and auto login) the browser in full screen “kiosk” mode on my home assistant site. I then bought this to attach to it:

I also bought a case for the screen and pi to fit in for a nice visual display (although these days the thing is embedded in my wall), but it looks like the case is now unavailable so might require looking around for one.

I secretly hope they screw up and brick all the switch 2 devices by uploading a bad update, and are forced to send replacement units, potentially crippling finances of their company.

Doubt it’ll happen, and I’d feel bad for people and kids just wanting to enjoy some Mario and stuff on their weekends (which makes me sorta hope it doesn’t happen at the same time), but… Nintendo needs to be hit very hard for their constant BS.

I’d say that even if you can find a slightly better price on some of these online shops, consider the support you get at your local store. If they’re willing to talk to you and guide you through questions, using up their time to make sure you can be successful in the hobby, it’s worth those extra dollars to support them.

I have a local freshwater place for my little freshwater tank that I go to frequently because the guy who runs it is amazing and spends so much time supporting me with my questions. Unfortunately the saltwater shops are a lot farther from me, but if I’m not in a rush, I’ll stick to them over a website where I may or may not receive support (not saying there aren’t any good online shops, there ARE good ones).

That being said, comparing prices online is still a good practice at the same time. My story would be different if the price difference was like double or something nuts lol.
