This is purposely obtuse.

He wasn’t asked to make who would be the best choice for speaker of the house.

He was asked if he wants Jeffries—who is the current Dem leader in the House and who would get the job of Dems get a majority—to get the job.

He’s just saying he wants Dems to get control of the house. The only alternative is for Republicans to maintain control. There is no way for Progressives to control the House anytime soon.

Life stopped being fun when you started feeling an overwhelming amount of threats to your safety and security. Life is fun when you feel safe and secure.

Lots of things can instill a real lack of security like: not enough food, abusive relationships, insufficient housing, etc. These are things can actually be dangerous.

Some threats are perceived but not real such as: not having as nice of a house as your friend/family, not seeing yourself as attractive as influencers, not being able to afford luxuries, etc. These are often comparisons to others that give the impression of a relative difference in security but aren’t actually a threat to your existence.

Still others are vague or intangible like: the current political climate, global climate, injustice whether close to home or far away. These are real threats but not ones that you can address directly or that even have an immediate effect on you.

The part of your brain that tries to protect you from threats can’t tell the difference between real threats, hypothetical threats or imagined threats. So, you can end up with an exhausting amount insecurity even if you don’t consciously think of it that way.

It can help to evaluate the things that make you feel unsafe and focus on the most dire and real threats. It also can help to categorize the threats and rank their importance. Make even a rudimentary plan like: apply for a job, practice gratitude for the things you do have, plan to attend a protest or meeting on a broader issue.

You may find that focusing on one quiets the others. Or, that ranking them makes the perceived ones seem insignificant thus freeing your brain of that stress.
