Currently reading/listening to Wizard’s First Rule by Terry Goodkind. I’ve tried diving into earlier fantasy authors like Moorcock and Le Guin, but their writing styles never quite clicked with me. This one, though, I’m really enjoying so far.

Kill, kill, kill!
I really love this series.
The universe may feel a bit generic, but it’s like a “best of” fantasy classics—with strong worldbuilding, a solid magic system, and a great cast of characters. The pacing is good, too.
The author was quite young when he wrote the first book, which makes the young hero feel especially believable (refreshing). As the series goes on, the writing improve noticeably in my opinion.
It’s an easy read with a good flow so you might as well give it a go.
Oh and the movie never existed, never!
Lemmy is a federated platform where each instance is run independently but can interact with all the other ones. lemmy.org is such an instance.
Your account is on it (written sulegulmen@lemmy.org) but I (KubrickFR@lemmy.world) can see and reply to your post on the community c/asklemmy (similar to r/something on Reddit)
Hope this is useful, I’m no expert…
Nice tool, I use a similar one on android to pick a random tv show episode (great for Star trek, stargate, the simpsons, etc). It would be great if there was a rating filter (tmdb for example), because I got some awful movies with Very high popularity…
