And (reportedly) 19 million more who thought, ‘whatever, I’m not voting’

I met a guy preaching the carnivore diet bullshit. He was actually a pretty nice dude, not a right winger just fell for the silly carrots are poison nonsense. I didn’t even bother to point out bioaccumulation / biomagnification, I was too preoccupied trying to understand where these insanely stupid ideas come from. I heard through our mutual friend he abandoned those ideas.
There is definately overlap with political chicanery. Super weird.
Oddly it was the first thing to pass through my mind too for some reason. How do you make a dip political ?
Garlic. Lots of garlic.

Books@lemmy.world•What's the weirdest typo/error you've seen in a book?
2·22 days agoyeah. I try to give him some grace as a scifi writer with him seeing the sexual revolution in the 60s based on the release of the pill and trying to imagine where the trajectory will end in 50, 100 years when you separate sex from reproduction. Still his take was kinda creepy and gross.
I think the worst example of him trying to write women was “I Will Fear No Evil”. It is an interesting story as it attempts to reconcile sex and gender written from a cis man in the 1970s, but its pretty messed up. I appreciate that he seems to attempt to bring these ideas into mainstream consciousness, I just wonder if he could have done some more research.

I thought stranger in a strange land would make a great miniseries. I loved that book as a teen. I read it as an adult some years ago and it didn’t hit the same way. Still, it could be adapted to an impactful story today. People would learn where grok came from and disassociate it with Musk’s racist piece of trash (pisses me off).

16·1 month agoIt bugs me that there is this generic description of ‘files’ and I don’t think I’ve heard discussions of what to expect. Funancial records? Client lists? Blackmail material?
We know big banks helped him by not reporting transactions they were legally required to. If the financial records aren’t released it’s bullshit. Always follow the money. Name and shame those who proffited from him.
Homemade falafel and hummus is so much better than store bought and so easy. I just gotta perfect a pita recipe.
Havn’t bought one yet. Just eyeing my next project (realistically 2 projects from now). I narrowed down the Millennium cause I think I could get the most utility out of it. If I were to really do it how I would like Id need a pbx and thats a project Im definitely not willing to take on for some time.

I am very impressed about your directness and take charge attitude. Your approach of bring others in to help you accomplish your goals really speaks of future CEO material to me.
