Every time The Daily Show goes on break I wonder if they’ll be back because of this garbage, because it’s only a matter of time before they go after them and others that don’t lick the boot.
I’m in my forties, and it just feels like we’ve been constantly losing ground since Obama left office, I’m just so frustrated by all of the apathy, corruption, and dishonesty, and have been since 2015.
I feel like a boiling fn frog at this point.

This right here seems to be the biggest problem with conspiracy and conservative types, the unfailing certainty of their righteousness, this seems to be why you can’t reason with them, and if you tie in their religion then they start with their surety that “God” is on their side.
Maybe if they had the strength of character to deal with their self-doubts rather than bolstering their infallibility by dismissing their doubts as weaknesses, maybe we could get somewhere with these people.
Recently had an argument with my conservative father, he’s always been big into Trek and Wars, and I had just started really watching Trek again, never watched a lot of the shows all the way through. So this father of mine started going on about how woke Trek was now, and I just lost it on him, I just get so tired of the “anti-woke” nonsense and he just finds some way to insert it into every conversation. So I was like “oh no, not woke Star Trek, the series about a socialist utopia, the series that holds the title of “the American show with the first interracial kiss”, the show where Kirk throws his dick at every species with a quim, the show that had a Ruskie character in the middle of the f’n Red Scare.” Star Trek was always woke, and my father was always too dumb, racially biased, and narcissistic to pick up on the lessons that they were trying to teach us when he watched it as a child in the 60’s.
I have not even tried to bring up Star Wars since the Disney acquisition, I’m sure my father has an insufferable take on that series now as well.
As a Marine vet it is pretty clear that most of these people are in “just following orders” mode, they’re forgetting their oaths and that just following orders doesn’t fly, they need a good reminder.
