7rokhym@lemmy.cato Games@lemmy.world•Does it feel like the PS5's library is *severely* lacking compared to the PS4's around the same time in its lifecycle?English2·7 days agoTrue, I think I’ve played more Mass effect on my PS5 than PS5 games. I assume it is leading faster at least… not a good investment. I should have stuck with my PS4 Pro.

Using GenAI to develop my Terraform and Ansible playbooks is magical. Also, use it to document everything in beautiful HTML docs from the outputs. Amazing.

Tiktok has been under US gov’t control for a while and most of the reaction I’ve seen is on RedNote. Some people have figured out their Tiktok shares, saves and favourites are blackholed when viewed from a US account, but visible from a Canadian or Australian account. This is exactly how the CCP does it.
Im an occasional user, noticed that the Tiktok feed has even more fake AI posts.
With the announcement, deleted my account. What you save, share and like will be used against you by the US gov’t.

7rokhym@lemmy.cato Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What do you think is the best (and cheapest) way to host a new nextcloud instance and website for my local scouts organisation?English11·13 days agoWould you believe Oracle OCI? They have an always free tier, as in you never pay. You need a valid regular credit card. At first I thought it was for a slow x86 instance, but it includes Arm hours equivalent to 4 cores, 24 GB RAM, 10TB of transfer a month, I think 200GB storage. Divide it up for an nginx reverse proxy in front of it, or HA Proxy if you are feeling ambitious.

He is some social media influencer that believed in the 2nd amendment. Apparently MAGA people are losing their shit, Fox News commentator claims this is an act of war.
Social media bubbles are wild.

7rokhym@lemmy.cato Canada@lemmy.ca•Prime Minister Mark Carney is delaying a plan that requires automakers to hit minimum sales levels for electric vehicles3·27 days agoRebates shouldn’t be on vehicles, but on charging infrastructure. The current infrastructure is woefully inadequate, and the infrastructure will last many decades, a car lasts maybe 1 to 2 decades.
Electric charging being cheaper than fuel should be the primary financial incentive. HOV Lane access, and other benefits should be enough to bolster demand.
The subsidies on luxury vehicles, Tesla’s specifically, were a harmful policy mistake that have given idiots talking points that will be used years from now.
No one knows, but here is a click bait article headline for some ad impressions!
7rokhym@lemmy.cato Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is it more moral to source leather from cows or humans?0·9 months agoVegan leather. Not made out of vegans. Actually made out of polyurethane: oil: check, microplastics: check, disposable with a short usable life: check!
Obviously to upset fragile beings in the future that believe biology is defined by electrical connectors.
