The Mighty Nein and the Bell’s Hells are briefly aboard the same ship, in the cursed seas surrounding the Shattered Teeth. Suddenly half of the team is transported to a shadowy mirror realm. Remaining on board: Chetney, Ashton, Laudna, Jester, Caleb, Yasha, and Veth. It is decided to bring the ship to the nearest land, the beach of which unfortunately is inhabited by carnivorous worms that swarm the party and also introduce them to a new friend named Ethel. He’s over 7 feet tall and blue, but so what?

The Misty Ascent

After the strange creeping of some odd, sourceless, spectreal mist began to rob your troop of friends and members. After a mysterious and sudden surge of color, only a few remain here on the deck of the Nein Heroez: Laudna, Jester, Caleb, Yasha, Ashton, Chetney, and Veth. Chilled to the bone and lost in the mist, it is but yourselves that remain upon this dock.

The looming shadow of the fast-approaching island itself growing closer and closer as (amidst the chaos) the anchor was not yet placed.
[Sounds of ship running aground]
You feel the ship lurch as it runs aground. You glance over the side to see the dark, sandy beach that greets you, like an endless display of grains of long-tumbled obsidian. The black beaches of the island have met you. Your mind and your wits just click in to realize you’re not sure what happened and where your friends are, but you’ve arrived.
