Did the camp have a, “no cell phones” policy? Because that would explain a lot.
…which is why solely relying on cell phones for emergency alerts isn’t a great plan.
Im not sure, but its common for canyons like they were in to simply not have cell service, and Texas has a history of doing statewide alerts for local issues, so a lot of people simply disabled the alerts.
