There will be no elections. Dotard is starting a war with Iran and we’re so exhausted we’re missing it. That war, by the way, will be his excuse for “postponing” elections.

ICE is actively making sure people are afraid to go out and vote. The Republic卐ns are creating laws that restrict voting access.

No one is saving us. This entire article is wishful thinking.

Elections are run by the states, not the federal government. They are going to happen as usual.

They could try to ignore the results, but the elections are happening.

I honestly don’t understand why so many people are convinced that the system will correct itself when the regime is ignoring the system - specifically including the courts that are supposed to defend the system.

It’s neither self-correcting nor quite as bad as you think. I expect them to try to ignore the results rather than prevent elections from taking place

As much as you’d think so, voter turnout will be massively suppressed, or votes outright ignored. Why do you think they stole all the ballots and records from Fulton County, the only county Trump needed last election for GA? Why do you think they demanded voter rolls from so many states? Kristi Noem even said, straight up, she plans to have ICE at polling locations so the ‘right people’ are voting for the ‘right leaders’ (her words).

We’re all used to seeing executive power wielded internally like a flyswatter. Now we see the flyswatter was actually a sledgehammer the entire time and it just wasn’t being used to crush US.

Well, 3/4 of the US would be perfectly happy to agree not to do election just because Trump asked, so they only have to stop them in certain places. And even in those states its only a couple counties that don’t already vote for Trump. Look at a county level election result map and you will suddenly see a pretty achievable military objective.

Most Americans are not interested in what you describe. There is an absolutely huge swing (about 30 percentage points) towards Democrats in recent special elections.

Also, the penalty for a state skipping an election is that they don’t get represented in Congress. So it’s just fine if Republican-run states dont hold elections but Democratic-leaning ones do
