Also, I just said this in the daily post, but I still think we need a young backup striker. Sometime like Weiper from Mainz. Either that or really lean into Nwaneri or Martinelli playing in that role a bit more.
I feel like with Havertz and eventually Jesus we’re fine on strikers, plus Merino or Martinelli or Trossard in a pinch.
Jesus probably won’t be available until well into the season and then match fitness etc…
Still. Two out and out strikers plus a bunch of backup options is pretty fine. I don’t think we have the squad space for another rn.
Yeah, bringing in 2 strikers in the same window is greedy, especially given that Havertz is still around. He was more than just decent as a starter last season, and will be fine as a backup.
That’s one tall dude. He looks and moves in a way that I’m mostly used to seeing from basketball players, though I suppose he’d be on the short side for the NBA.
