I had emergency surgery a couple of days ago, and I’ve been home trying my best to recover but this is a new level of body horror I was not prepared for. I’m so glad the whole thing was free though, and the hospital stay was genuinely quite pleasant (I got lucky and ended up with a private room).

Here’s hoping I get through the next couple of weeks without any complications, I just want this thing to be over and done with.

That’s rough. Hope everything goes well and you can recover without drama.

If anything does go wrong there’s always your local Urgent Care but I’m sure you won’t need it. You can just walk in. No need for an appointment.

Merry Christmas to you Sasha ❤️

I actually started the whole thing at urgent care, who took one look at me and immediately sent me to the ER haha. I don’t expect to be back anytime soon, things are going well healing wise, it’s just freaky as hell that the standard is to not stitch up the big hole in me.

Merry Christmas to you too 😊

Time is the best healer. Hoping you have help, if not anything not essential to daily life can wait. Rest is important, and you can’t rush it.

I hope you’re doing ok and recovering fast.

If you get stuck and need help I know there’s a nursing service called Call On Clare? Not sure if they specifically handle surgical aftercare at home (you’d have to check) but they do home visits and could help you with appointments and transport if you need follow-up.

Some hospitals do send someone to check in on you and help you post admission but to be honest the service isn’t always great… there’s also nurse on call and the virtual ED if that puts your mind at ease.

Fingers crossed you manage ok though.
