The same thing happened to me just a couple days ago. I was very surprised.
However, your instance leads me to believe that it’s not the same store (Berlin). Judging by other comments, it seems to be a global phenomenon.
I live in Berlin, I’m on a Canadian instance by accident, we’re almost definitely sad about the same shop!
We rushed there as soon as we saw the announcement and managed to talk to the staff one last time. It was so heartbreaking to see the shop gutted, the atmosphere felt different, it was awful. I asked them what happened and they said it was a combination of a few unfortunate things.

I didn’t get to visit them one last time or browse their clearance sale because I saw the announcement too late. It all happened rather quickly.

I’ve been wanting to invite a couple people for a small board game evening, but so much has been happening at work that I just couldn’t summon up the mental energy to do it. I’ll for sure hit you up when I get around to it!
Wait, which shop was it, then? I used to live in Berlin and bought board games here and there. At least Spielwiese still seems to exist, which is the most important thing, but which of the other lovely shops is now gone?

Looks like a cool place! A pity it’s gone. They apparently opened once I was already gone from the town, which explains why I couldn’t find out which one of the shops I used to frequent had now disappeared :)
