    Cheers to Patrick Volkerding for dedicating his life to maintaining Slackware.

    I’ve been using Slackware since 1995. Here’s my 1999 system running Slackware 98 with Enlightenment Window Manager running Loki Civilization Call to Power

      Hmm that’s DR17 right? I always thought DR16 was the revolutionary one, truly shifting paradigms

        IIRC this was DR16 as 17 was too unstable still. Enlightenment was absolutely the most gorgeous WM at the time, no contest.

          DR16 was absolutley revolutionary for its time - nothing else had those translucent menus and those wild themes that made Windows users jealous back in the day.

          Absolutely true, I’d forgotten about those times when I was playing around. I’ve been using fluxbox naked for so long now if I use X at all.
