The regular 500 for $90 would be a good option for kids, but this 500+ for $200 comes at way too high a price premium over it to justify IMO.

If you want to use glasses as a monitor replacement, that sort of form factor is one possible outcome. Someone did a PC with that as a display, and IIRC it kinda looked like that.

      kagis

      Spacetop:

Like you, I kind of prefer the idea of separating the keyboard from the rest of the PC if you’re doing that. Just use a carrying case/backpack/whatever and plug and take the cables out when setting up. But if you place a premium on setup time and portability, if you’re very frequently popping the thing open and shut, I suppose it’s not unreasonable. I mean, we could theoretically also have a mini PC plus portable display plus keyboard form factor, and yet, that’s much less popular than the laptop form factor.

Sorry for the off-topic question but I’m curious. I have seen people say “kagis” in a comment a few times in the past and I tried looking it up to see what it means but found irrelevant results. What does it mean in this context? Thanks in advance!

“googles” -> searches with Google search engine

“kagis” -> searches with Kagi search engine

Thanks again. When I come across a word I don’t know I like to look it up to learn it. That one has been bugging me for a while.

My office uses hot desking. You get a monitor, with a usb-C docking station with a cheap dell mouse and keyboard.

I could see this working in that situation if you want a good keyboard/mouse. You can’t easily take it to a meeting room to take notes though…
