As I called it here, the goal is clearly to force Europe to become a captive energy market for the US. China used to be a big customer for American LNG, but with Power of Siberia 2 now having been approved, that market will dry up. The US will force Europeans to buy their surplus instead.

Like I get that the US capitalist system sucks at providing reliable energy to it’s citizens, but that isn’t because of a lack of supply. The US has plenty of energy in fossil fuels, more then enough to export to Europe.
It is a supply issue. The “shale revolution” is over. Virtually all the deposits in usa are tapped and ouput is going to fall steadily for the foreseeable future. Many analysts are saying that 2024 was the peak.
