I don’t chew a lot of gum, but I like to have something I can keep at work to manage my breath after lunch
I used to be into Five spearmint, if that’s a good point of reference. I prefer the stuff that starts out soft, but I guess that’s not a deal breaker

sorry this kinda took the joy out of it: Chicle and gutta-percha based gums are basically plastic. Those are the good ones, if you prefer your plastics to be naturally derived.

You can also find spruce gum on trees you just need to spit bark bits out.

I usually look for ones with xylitol as it helps teeth as well, but they’re getting hard to find and can kill dogs.
