What’s left of the US Department of Education told state education agencies across the nation Monday that they can’t have some $6.8 billion in funding they’d been expecting to be released on Tuesday as part of the normal budgeting process. The funds were passed by Congress in March as part of the continuing resolution that kept the government open, but just because Congress makes appropriations doesn’t mean Donald Trump has to release them, because Russ Vought told him the Constitution no longer applies to him. By law, the funds were supposed to be released on July 1, but again, laws are but playthings for Great Leader, who am the Law.
Republicans aren’t stopping him, but helping him do this. Also SCOTUS. We’re a thoroughly corrupt country now.

Anyone who can’t afford private school will have to teach kids in their spare time. schools are just going to turn into holding kids indoors every day with maybe some propaganda training on the side

Already did in good old Texas. Passed in June.
They now have: mandatory 10 commandments in every classroom. Mandatory “in God we trust” sign if anyone donated one to the class. Mandatory “Bible infused” text books. And they just passed a bill in May allowing public schools to have a period for prayer and reading the Bible during the school day.
The public schools are starting to be more religious than the Catholic School I went to as a kid.
