The TTC will consider a proposal next month that would do away with the monthly pass and replace it with a system known as fare capping.

    I’m in favour in this change. It provides more flexibility to the commuters. Ar the beginning of December, one doesn’t need to calculate if a monthly pass can break even. Just tap and go, and the commute cost is always capped

    Smart move. They’re at risk of a death spiral. Declining service leads to declining ridership.

    Make the TTC a realistic option for getting around and it can build a sustainable base. It’d be nice to see some more public funding too but they need to play the hand they’re dealt.
