So I’m installing GenP/Adobe apps install on my new laptop and had a question. Do we have to login on most Adobe apps to use them properly? Such as Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, Audition etc.
I think I remember Acrobat Pro doesn’t need to be, but I couldn’t remember the others and can’t find it in the GenP guide.
The only thing you are installing is the Adobe software itself.
GenP is not an app you install; it simply patches your installed Adobe files so they behave as if genuine.
The GenP method works the same way as Adobe’s intended setup: you install apps through the CC app.
Which requires you to be signed in with your Adobe account, as this sign-in is necessary to manage licenses and downloads.
When you install via the CC app, it automatically uses your Adobe credentials to sign you into the installed Adobe apps.
This allows the apps to download any extra components, filters, or modules needed during first startup without issues.
However, this automatic sign-in behaviour applies only to Adobe installations managed by the CC app.
Some patched versions may disable or bypass sign-in prompts entirely, like with Acrobat Pro.
But this can cause missing features or errors if the app expects a signed-in session to download components or sync settings.
In contrast, Monkrus builds are standalone installers that do not use the CC app.
You usually aren’t signed in automatically after installation, so if additional components are needed on first launch.
You must sign in manually; otherwise, the app may throw errors or fail to work properly.
Regarding signing in: if you’re not automatically signed in during installation, it’s up to you whether to sign in or not.
Ultimately, nothing stops you from skipping sign-in if you prefer, but it might limit functionality or cause errors in some Adobe apps.
Some apps require being signed in to work fully or to access certain features and content, while others can function perfectly well without it.
The choice is yours: run signed in or run signed out.
