It rained hard yesterday so I was too lazy to go to the grocery store and had to make do with whatever we had in the pantry. We had a box of mac and cheese and frozen pre-cooked burger patties that were in the freezer for so long they were encased in ice

Cooked the burger patties in sweet soy sauce and mixed it into the mac and cheese. We also had some leftover shitake mushrooms that we cooked in the same sauce as a side dish but I wasn’t able to take a photo.

I can see how this worked. I’ve made worse and called it dinner.

I was put off until I read you added soy sauce, that explains the color. I totally could see box mac and cheese with soy sauce working as a flavor combo too. It makes sense. Good job making something from what you had!

This is very beautiful, you should be proud of it.

I would have added a little frozen corn and shred cheese, but I’m a real glutton.

I’ll say this… If I look at the patties as if they’re brownies it’s not so bad 😂

This is definitely a meal that tastes better than it looks I’m sure. 👏

Yeah it’s the dark soy sauce that gives it that color. It actually looked like burnt ends in person.

I thought it was brisket Mac n cheese until i read the title. Odd combo for sure but I’m here for easy meals with what I have on hand!
