The Council is especially concerned about the plan’s strong endorsement of the widely discredited IHRA definition of antisemitism, which has been used to silence legitimate criticism of Israel and Zionism.
The IHRA are pro-genocide and their definition should be rejected.
The report claims research commissioned by the special envoy “highlights a stark divide between Australians under 35 and those over 35” on attitudes toward the Jewish community and “the existence of the state of Israel”, claiming younger Australians were more likely to hold antisemitic views.

In an interview on Sky News, Segal wouldn’t nominate examples of media coverage she felt breached that standard, but said Australian media outlets should represent the situation in the Middle East with “fairness and balance”.
So no examples of unfairness, but still needs to change.

Something I really struggle with on this shit, is the government has cracked down so hard here, but like aboriginal Aussies are still undergoing genocide here as we speak. Massive overpolicing, massively higher deaths in custody, massively higher deaths in healthcare, horrific amounts of racism. Yet apparently we need a special action body on legitimising Israel :|
