Yeah the price of meat is insane
It’s from an interview where she was offered a chance to comment and distance herself from the racist tone of the jeans ad she featured in, and wouldn’t.

Europe@feddit.org•Meloni Weighs Overhaul of Italy’s Voting Laws to Help ReelectionEnglish
4·1 month agoSo, same shit as all electoral reforms in Italy ever. There are better ways (STV) but as long as people in power only care about being reelected with a majority we’ll always be stuck with these shitty systems.
There’s an interview with Keanu where he tells the story of how he explained the plot of Matrix to some child, who basically replied with “what does it matter if it’s real or not?”

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Anyone else live somewhere that has had people joining in a WiFi naming joke?
133·2 months agoSadly in my apartment complex they seem to all use the default name given by the router (like Carrier-randomnumbers).
I have a friend who named his WiFi “Connecting…” which is diabolical

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What was the incident in your school?
11·4 months agoWe had a few days a year when lessons were suspended and students attended self organized activities instead.
An entire class decided to sneak out instead, went to a bar and some students got drunk before coming back to school. One such student went to the bathroom, zipped up his pants without properly storing his equipment and ended up requiring medical attention including some stitches.
I never met the guy or even know who he was, but the whole school was talking about it for a week or more.
The true one:
Here’s a command line interface with vim open. Close it to disable the trap.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is your opinion on national pride / patriotism?
5·4 months agoNationalism (and by extension patriotism) was an amazing tool to bring people together in a nation, when coming from a past of small kingdoms, city states and similar smaller communities.
Now it’s done it’s job and it’s time we get past that.
