Bespoke Real Estate, the agency jointly overseeing the sale, stated that further information on the listing was only available to prospective buyers.[21][22]
In May 2023, billionaire Stephen Deckoff, under his firm SD Investments, announced the acquisition of the Great St. James and Little St. James islands for $60 million.[23][24]

Toys “R” Us filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2017 and by 2018, the toy retailer announced the closure of more than 700 stores throughout the U.S. Over the years, Toys “R” Us attempted comebacks under new ownership but none have proven successful. Most recently, the retailer opened a flagship location in Minnesota’s Mall of America in 2023, which remains open.
