Today, it looks like the Brooke Shields situation was normal for the time, but I assure you that it wasn’t. Plenty of people called out the behavior of those around her, and it led to the tighter restrictions on childhood sexual exploitation that we see today. There’s a reason why Brooke Shields is pretty much a solo act - when Hollywood handlers tried to cross boundaries with her, they got slapped down pretty quickly, and nobody really followed.

However, it would be nice if regular parents and grandparents can leave their beloved possessions and assets to their offspring, and give them a little lift in the middle of their lives, and allow them to retire early, or start a business, or just grow their retirement. I would hate if the law evens the score with Oligarchs, at the expense of middle class and poor people losing out on one of the few, relatively small advantages they might get in their entire lives.
It reminds me of the Star Trek Universe, where replicator technology rendered money useless, since anyone could simply create anything they wanted from the replicator.
Want to have a game of catch? Replicate some broken in gloves and a ball, and go toss it around. When you’re done, you just feed it all back into the replicator to be turned into something else. Nobody really owns anything, they just replicate it as they need it, including food.

And the charge of Trump Derangement Syndrome is hilarious, and they haven’t figured it out yet that every American thinks it applies to THEM. The people with Trump Derangement Syndrome are MAGAs, and EVERYBODY knows it. Despising a corrupt traitor pedophile is normal, you HAVE to be deranged to worship him the way they do. And she should be charged with Contempt of Congress, and perhaps worse, for stealing a Congressional Rep’s computer history. I’m sure they have the search histories of all those reps who reviewed the Epstein Files. That’s a 4th Amendment violation, at the very least, and I suspect that the method of reviewing the Epstein Files under such restrictive terms, was engineered to get info on Democratic troublemakers.
Impeach her, and throw her in prison where she belongs.
Your scenarios require Democrats to not learn ANYTHING from their past behavior, and it’s consequences. We cannot allow them, and especially incoming Democrats, to repeat their past poor choices.
We are in unprecedented territory, and it will require unprecedented solutions to redeem this nation in the eyes of its citizens, the world, and history. We cannot fall back on the proven failed past Democratic strategies of politeness and scolding and expect MAGAs to suddenly become moral. They are ignorant and anti-intellectual. Scolding them like the terrible children they surely were, and still are, isn’t going to change them.
It is imperative that the Democratic Party shift their position, and see MAGA as the proven serious National Security Threat that they genuinely are, and it’s leadership and much of its elected following as Domestic Terrorists, and deal with them as such.
In the future, we cannot be polite or fair to these people. They are LITERALLY mind-bogglingly corrupt, traitors, racists, and pedophiles, and we have no obligation to treat them politely at all. We see how they treat those that they hate, and most of those people have done nothing at all. MAGA has EARNED far harsher treatment.
They know it, too. We don’t have to play dirty, like they do, we just have to play Hard Ball, and mercilessly charge them with every CRIME. It isn’t about being MAGA, it’s about launching and participating in an Insurrection. It’s about stealing hundreds of Classified documents. It’s about taking bribes. It’s about using pardons to commit obstruction of justice, etc. None of it is political, it is all criminal, and they should be tried, prosecuted, and sentenced for those crimes. They understand that what they’ve done should be met with long prison sentences, and in some case capital punishment. They would enthusiastically, gleefully do it to any of us, and we don’t even deserve it. They do.

He will carry his 34 felony convictions for life, which also came with some serious restrictions on his company.
Both those legal babes lost their cushy jobs, and may yet be disbarred. They’re still young, so that will wreck their lives, even worse than being associated with MAGA will.
And when he’s out of office, he WILL be tried for his Insurrection and Stolen Classified Documents cases, and he will almost certainly lose, and spend a significant length in prison, probably for life.

Biden appointed the most feckless Republican to be his AG, who then predictably dithered and slow-walked the prosecutions and gave Trump a two year head start in running out the clock, which is one of the few things he is actually an expert at, as you pointed out.
But it was the timing that PAUSED his prosecutions, not the courts. Most of those cases are ready to become active when he’s out of office, and that WILL happen.
When we take this country back, our Dem leaders WILL punish MAGA for their CRIMES, or they will get punished right alongside them. Cowardice and incompetence from our leaders will no longer be tolerated, no matter their political affiliation.
We’ve thought of that, but we haven’t pulled that trigger yet. Frankly, this could be the cheapest divorce ever, if we, or one of us, wants to go that route.
Seriously, if we did get officially married in America, what would that mean for the last 30+ years of our marriage? Did we commit numerous cases of fraud by claiming to be married on financial documents, for instance? Mortgages, car loans, income taxes, etc ?
Is getting officially remarried even legal? I know people renew their vows, but that’s ceremonial (and dumb), not legal.
I’m an expert at fixing washers and dryers. Not the mechanics of the drums and such, that’s real work, but that doesn’t break too often. It’s usually the circuit board/switch behind the big button.
Take off the covers, take pictures of the switch from every angle, and go look up the part number and model on Google. You’ll find it somewhere, possibly even Amazon. Carefully compare it to the pictures and order it.
When it arrives, pull out one plug on the circuit board and replace it, and do that with each plug, referring to your photos. Then comes the hard job of putting it all back together properly.
I just did it for my mom’s dryer. The service call, parts, and labor would have cost more than a new dryer. My repair was $145 for the part, which is already too expensive.
It’s never failed to work for me, and my wife is always amazed at any sign of competency from me. It usually gets me about 2 hours of goodwill until we’re back to normal, and I’m a moron again.
At the end, when he was out of money, and going to die anyway, and about to leave his wife and six kids broke, I’ll bet he wished he had ended it earlier.
We got married in the Caribbean, over 30 years ago. We can’t find our marriage certificate. I have no idea where it went, but it has never turned up in several moves.
We have requested a copy several times over the last decade or so, have sent letters with the fee (only about $10), but it is always ignored, or we get a letter back saying that the payment was wrong, or in the wrong currency, etc. We have followed their shifting rules to the letter, we’ve spent over $100 so far, and we still don’t have a copy. As a result, my wife’s driver’s license has expired, and she can’t get a Real ID.
This legislation targets her specifically.
How does anyone rack up 38 tickets? I got a parking ticket on a visit to NYC, and when I came back a year later, my car got booted, and then towed. It was a major pain int the ass to go to the courthouse, only to be told I needed the registration, so I had to go to the tow yard, and get the registration from the glove compartment, then go back to the courthouse to pay all the fines and towing and storage costs, and then go back to the tow yard for my car. For ONE parking ticket.
